Description

The galaxy M101, also known as the Pinwheel Galaxy, is a large barred spiral located about 21 million light years from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major. With a diameter of about 170,000 light years, M101 is one of the largest galaxies in the Local Group, our cosmic neighbor.
